Digitizing

Understanding Our Digitizing Process

Digitizing is the crucial first step in transforming your design into a beautiful embroidered product. It’s a highly specialized art form that goes far beyond traditional graphic design, combining technical skill with creative interpretation.

The Art of Digitizing

Our trained team meticulously maps out every detail for our embroidery machines, including:

  • Needle start and stop points: Ensuring precise placement.
  • Stitch directions: Guiding the flow of the thread for the best appearance.
  • Thread color changes: Defining each color in your design.
  • Sewing techniques: Choosing the right stitch types for different effects.

This intricate process requires skill, creativity, and a deep understanding of how fabric and thread interact. At A Stitch or Two, our staff is well-trained and boasts a strong creative background, so you can expect impressive results. While embroidery files can be used across machines, each digitizer has a unique style. If you already have an embroidery file, we’ll need to analyze it to ensure it meets our quality standards before proceeding.

Digitizing Basics and Pricing

The cost of digitizing depends on several factors, including:

  • Stitch count: The number of stitches required for your design.
  • Design complexity: Intricate designs naturally take more time.
  • Number of colors: More colors can add to the complexity.
  • Size: Larger designs generally have more stitches.

The process begins with our artist carefully interpreting your design, considering the garment type, color, and desired size, all while staying true to your original vision. After the initial programming, we run multiple test sew-outs, making adjustments to ensure the file sews properly and efficiently. Once we have a perfect sew-out, it’s ready for your approval. You’ll have the chance to review it and request any necessary adjustments before we move forward.

Your Digitized File

Once your digitized file is complete, we securely store it for all your future reorders, making repeat orders quick and easy. Please note that while we maintain legal rights over the digitized embroidery file itself, you retain full ownership of your logo or image. We guarantee that your design, in whole or in part, will never be used for another customer’s file.
